Reverse osmosis membrane element installation process
Reverse osmosis membrane element installation process
Preparation before installation of reverse osmosis membrane elements
① Cleaning the pressure vessel: before installing the reverse osmosis membrane element, it is necessary to clean the internal environment of the pressure vessel to prevent dirt or debris from depositing on the outer surface of the membrane element. It is recommended to dip a sponge ball into 50% glycerol solution, use a suitable tool to scrub the inside of the module housing back and forth, and clean the inner wall of the module housing. During cleaning, pay attention not to let tools scratch the inner surface of the module housing.
② Flushing system pipeline: if the system is brand new, flush the system pipeline sufficiently before installing reverse osmosis membrane to prevent debris, solvent, or residual chlorine from contacting with membrane elements.
Installation sequence of reverse osmosis membrane elements
The module must be installed in its corresponding pressure vessel.
① Generally, the membrane elements are stored in 1% sodium bisulfite solution. First, they shall be fully rinsed with pure water.
② There is a concentrated water sealing ring on the water supply side of the membrane element. Note that the installation direction of the sealing ring is that the opening is open towards the upstream. The function of concentrated water seal ring is to ensure that all raw water flows into the membrane element without side flow. The flow rate of raw water will make the opening of concentrated water seal ring tightly press and seal towards the inner wall of pressure vessel. If the installation direction of the sealing ring is opposite, the raw water cannot be sealed, resulting in a part of the raw water flowing to the outside of the membrane element, reducing the flow rate on the membrane surface, resulting in scaling, thus shortening the service life of the membrane.
③ Confirm that the O-ring is installed at the specified position of the connecting fitting. During installation, pay attention to whether there is scratch or attachment on the surface of O-ring and connector. Be careful not to twist the O-ring for installation. If the connector leaks, the raw water will enter the produced water, which will lead to the decline of produced water quality. When installing on the water collecting pipe, the O-ring and the surface of the water collecting pipe shall be wetted with pure water, distilled water or glycerin to facilitate installation.
④ Remove the end plates on both sides of the pressure vessel and install the membrane element. Install the adapter on the concentrated water side (downstream) of the header of the first membrane element. Then push the membrane element along the direction of raw water flow and install it into the pressure vessel. When multiple reverse osmosis membrane elements are installed continuously, the next membrane element shall be prepared for connection with the connector before the previous membrane element completely enters the membrane shell. At the same time, be careful not to let the membrane element contact with the edge of the pressure vessel to prevent scratches. Push it into the pressure vessel as parallel as possible.
⑤ After confirming the connection of the adapter of the pressure vessel, connect the concentrated water side end plate with the module housing.
⑥ After the installation of the concentrated water side end plate, push the membrane element device from the water inlet side to the concentrated water side again to ensure its complete tight connection. Then install the end plate on the water inlet side. When installing the end plate on the water inlet side, pay attention to measuring the gap between the end plate and the adapter. If there is a gap, install the plastic gasket with the thickness of 1 / 4 "- 1 / 8" whose inner diameter is greater than the outer diameter of the adapter until the end plate cannot be completely installed in place. At this time, remove a gasket and install the end plate again.
Disassembly of reverse osmosis membrane element
① After removing the pipes around the pressure vessel, the end plate devices at both ends of the pressure vessel need to be removed.
② Push the membrane elements downstream from the raw water inlet, and take out the membrane elements one by one at the concentrated water outlet. Do not use a hard metal rod when pushing out the reverse osmosis membrane element.
③ If the preservation method of reverse osmosis membrane elements is not strictly observed, it is likely to cause serious changes in membrane performance, so users need to pay full attention.
