The service life of EDI membrane stack is limited. Whether it is imported or domestic, we all know that under normal use, the service life of EDI is approximately 3-5 years. In the process of EDI maintenance, cases of failure within half a year or one year are often received, which are not limited to imported and domestic brands. So what are the causes of EDI module damage?

Here are some reasons we often encounter during maintenance:

1、 EDI does not produce water or does not produce water.

① The residual chlorine in the influent water exceeds the standard, resulting in the breakage of EDI resin, blocking the channel, and reducing the water yield;

② The module has not been cleaned and maintained for a long time, resulting in the EDI internal structure;

③ Water shortage operation directly leads to module dry burning deformation;

In response to the above issues, we should pay attention to the following points during normal use:

1、 Intake water quality assurance

1. Check the incoming water quality, install an incoming water conductivity meter on the equipment, and regularly monitor the conductivity of the incoming water quality (check whether the instrument probe is abnormal);

2. It is also necessary to regularly monitor the residual chlorine in the water, and residual chlorine testing agents can be used for testing. It is recommended to increase oxidation reduction treatment or replace activated carbon if the residual chlorine exceeds the standard (excessive residual chlorine or activated carbon adsorption fails)

3. It is recommended to maintain the PH value of the incoming water within the range of 6.5-9, and the water quality should preferably be slightly alkaline;
